Grow Your Own Courgettes and Squash
Courgettes and squash grow quickly and easily. Should you follow the guide below you will have an abundant supply from summer through to autumn.
How To Grow Your Own Courgettes and Squash?
- Sow the seeds from March through to May.
- Put compost in a 7.5cm (3inch) pot and gently press down. Put a seed on its side 2.5cm (1inch) deep. Then cover pot.
- Water, label and place on your windowsill.
- Ensure the soil is kept moist. When the roots are visible through the bottom of the pot, place on a 12.5cm (5inch) container.
- Plant the seedlings into grow bags, a large pot or soil in late spring/ early summer.
- Harvest your courgettes once they are 10cm (4inches). As squashes come in many shapes and sizes, read the relevant seed packet for appropriate harvesting information.
