A new type of Palaeolithic diet attempts to take humans back to the Palaeolithic era in terms of what they eat.
Those people that eat a Palaeolithic diet are generally under the belief that human genetics have barely changed since the dawn of that era, and our bodies are not therefore capable of properly digesting modern-day food .
Therefore, those people that eat a Palaeolithic diet eat high levels of protein and fibre, low levels of carbohydrates and salt, and numerous vitamins, minerals and antioxidants .
The Palaeolithic diet rejects beans, grains and potatoes, as well as all dairy products. The aim of the diet is to introduce very low levels of toxins into the body. Meat is one of the key components of the diet .
