British babies are being given a diet of baked beans, cow’s milk, bread and gravy which is leaving them with kidney problems for their entire lives.
University of Bristol researchers confirmed that more than half of our tots are eating twice the recommended intake of salt and 70% of them are eating more than their daily limit.
The study involved 1,200 eight month-olds and discovered that a quarter of them eat less than the maximum recommended daily amount of 400mg of sodium or 1g of salt.
Cow’s milk and bread are two main causes of the high levels of salt which can cause damage to developing kidneys, encourage a liking for salty foods and bring about poor eating practices which last into adulthood.
It is clear from the research that salt intakes should be drastically reduced within babies diets, ensuring improved health and wellbeing .
