Hypertension Due to Poor Diet and Stress

Hypertension is high blood pressure and occurs when the pressure on the arteries increases, the heart has to work harder for the blood to circulate effectively.

High blood pressure is the key cause of strokes and heart attacks.

If steps are not taken to lower high blood pressure, it can damage your blood vessels, heart, kidneys, eyes, and other organs.

Many of us do not take know to relax, given we have highly stressed jobs, busy social lives, may smoke, and have minimal time and energy for dieting or exercise.

There is an increasing trend in lifestyle diseases and chronic conditions, such as, hypertension, high cholesterol and diabetes .

Doctors say the only way to effectively manage these chronic ailments is a combination of drug therapy, lifestyle modification, and regular health checks.

Other than those who may be genetically predisposed to this condition, stress has been identified as key contributory factor, along with irregular dietary habits, a high salt intake, obesity as well as inadequate exercise .
