7. Exercise for a Healthy Weight
It is not healthy to be underweight or overweight. Being overweight is considered in a more serious vein as you can end up with diseases like heart disease, diabetes or high blood pressure. Being underweight can have its own impact on your health.
You can check whether your weight is right for your height.
Should you be at all concerned about your weight, get some advice from your GP or a dietician.
Here some simple diet and healthy eating tips should you wish to lose some weight.
- Just eat what you need to eat
- Choose healthy options, like low-sugar and low-fat choices, as well as lots of fruit and vegetables and wholegrains
- Become more active
It is crucial that you eat various types of foods in order to ensure that your body gets all the nutrients it needs.
Exercise is a great way of burning up those extra calories and controlling your weight. You do not have to join a join a gym should you be interested in weight loss.
Try to do a little more each day and try and build into your day as much walking as possible.
When we eat more than our body requires we put on weight. This happens because we store surplus energy we do not use as fat.
Healthy weight loss is about 0.5 to 1kg (1 to 2lbs) per week.
