How do You Know if You Have an Eating Disorder?

Whatever your gender, age or ethnic background you may suffer from an eating disorder.

Eating disorders can be a way for people to cope with feelings of sadness or depression. The sufferer feels they cannot discuss their emotions, like loss, unhappiness, fear or guilt. So their eating patterns develop in such a way they are able to cope with their emotions, or the eating disorder becomes a replacement for the emotion.

For example, anorexics and bulimics do not eat properly in order to exercise control on their life which they otherwise feel they do not have. Binge eaters often replace food for human comfort.
