Milk and Soft Drinks

Milk and Soft Drinks

Milk is famous for its high calcium content and is often recommended for those with a calcium deficiency. However, milk also contains quite a large amount of saturated fats which are linked to obesity and heart disease.

The hormones contained in milk have also been linked to acne.

Soft Drinks

Soft drinks contain a lot of ‘empty calories’ due to their high sugar content, with this contributing to soft drinks being considered one of the primary factors in rising levels of obesity.

Cola appears to raise cholesterol levels, and Coca-Cola has been found to be very low in antioxidants.

The caramel colouring that is used in many soft drinks has been linked to cancer, which has led to changes in soft drink formulation.
