A new miracle diet drug that promises to eliminate 25 per cent of fat from food is being put on sale in the UK this week.
Glaxosmithkline diet pill Alli, also called orlistat, is likely to receive considerable media attention in coming weeks. However, the dietary supplement does give rise to side effects and pills start at £32.95 for a two week supply.
The manufacturers of Alli claim that people on a diet could lose up to 50 per cent more fat than if they simply started eating more healthily and exercising more. Pharmacists throughout the UK have been given training about answering questions regarding the drug.
