Diet on Alternate Days

Well now the Alternate Day Diet is being recommended.
This is also known as the Longevity Diet, the Up Day Down Day Diet or the Intermittent Fasting diet.
You are encouraged to eat 50 per cent of you usual calorie intake every other day.
This is considered to trigger a skinny gene which encourages the body to burn fat .
In the 1930s a low calorie diet was discovered to increase life expectancy by aproximately 30%.
So in order to make this literally more palatable, it has been modified for alternate days.
Scientist Dr Mark Mattson, in 2003, discovered that health benefits could be enjoyed should calories be reduced every other day.
So that takes a lot of pressure of those who consider that every day is for dieting and end up chastising themselves when they do not manage to diet every day.
