Eating fruit and vegetables can make you more more attractive to the opposite gender, so say scientists.
In a study, volunteers were questioned as to which skin tone made people appear most healthy and attractive.
Researchers from St Andrews University, Scotland, discovered that Caucasian women and men preferred the ‘rosy’ look created by eating lots of fruit and veg.
They discovered that Caucasian men and women cited a specific ‘golden glow’ as the most desirable complexion.
However, the preferred tone was the ‘rosy’ look brought on by eating a diet of lots of fruit and veg’, not the suntanned look.
Examples cited of this healthy, attractive look include Hollywood star Johnny Depp and musician Myleene Klass.
Researchers utilising specialist computer software, asked 54 Caucasian participants of both genders to manipulate the skin colour of female and male Caucasian faces to render them as healthy as possible.
Participants opted for an increase in yellowness, rosiness and brightness of skin
