An Unhealthy Lifestyle Can Put 12 Years on You

Drinking, smoking, an unhealthy diet and little exercise can age you by 12 years.
You are also increasing your chances of dying by partaking in all the above behaviours, as you are increasing your chances of developing cancer and cardiovascular disease .
There are huge public health issues connected to the above behaviours.
The researchers interviewed 4,886 individuals aged 18 and above from 1984 to 1985.
A health behavior score was calculated, allocating a point for each unhealthy behaviour: smoking; fruits and vegetables eaten less than thrice daily; less than two hours weekly physical activity; and weekly consumption of more than 14 units of alcohol for women and more than 21 units for men.
