Amercian Government Forced to Revise Diet Guidelines

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention last week reported that the obesity epidemic in America is worsening.
A third of the population is obese in nine USA states, which covers the entire South or Midwest.
No state has an obesity score under below 15 percent, which is the goal that has been set by the federal government’s Healthy People program.
The Northeastern part of the USA is thinner than other parts of the country. However, a quarter of New Yorkers remain obese.
The Trust for America’s Health has termed obesity “one of the biggest public health challenges the country has ever faced.”
The government has been hit hard by comments that it is partially responsible for America’s obesity problem due its slack federal dietary guidelines.
Greater effort needs to be made to improve governmental nutritional advice.
