Guidance on Diet and Exercise for Pregnant Women being Developed

New guidance on diet and exercise for weight management during pregnancy and during childbrith is in development.
The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) is in the process of developing the public health advice.
All women are going to be supported before, during and after birth so that both they and their babies have the healthiest possible result.
New guidance is needed as women are presently faced with conflicting advice as to what they should eating and how much exercise they should do whilst pregnant and after they give birth.
The public is being invited to view as well as comment on the draft recommendations, published on the NICE website today.
Actress Jane Fonda released a fitness video called Fonda’s Pregnancy, Birth and Recovery Workout.
She is presently planning to release two exercise DVDs aimed at an older audience, the baby boomer generation.
