Eating a Healthy Vegetarian Diet

A well balanced, healthy diet is crucial for us all.
Vegetarians are not exempt. There is a common presumption that every vegetarian must be healthy.
However, there are some nutrients that certain vegetarians commonly go without.
This is due to the fact that there is, of course by definition, no meat in their diet .
Specific nutrients are found in meat and these are difficult to get if you are vegetarian, without a degree of planning.
The U.S. National Library of Medicine states that a vegetarian diet lacks vitamins D and B12, some proteins, iron, zinc and riboflavin.
Soya, milk and egg are great sources of protein for vegetarians who wish to eat them. It is also ideal to combine foods like fortified cereals, beans and rice, peanut butter and bread, to ensure that you have adequate protein as a vegetarian.
