The Calorie Restriction diet has taken the UK by storm.
It consists of a diet of steamed fish, vegetables and nuts and its adherents are certain that it is the portal to longevity.
By consuming littile they consider that they have found the secret to living into their hundreds.
The adherents do not eat gluten, wheat, sugar, dairy, meat or drink tap water.
These dieters take nutrient supplements and go to the gym thrice a week and run on daily basis.
Adherents state that they gain the maximum number of nutrients from the fewest amount of calories, which enables them to live longer and their body to age at a slower rate.
Hence, you are much less likely to develop diseases like diabetes, heart attacks, cancer and stroke, which are the key killer diseases in the UK.
Calorie Restriction adherents also do not use ‘extreme heat’ to cook with. Alternatively, they eat raw food and steam, instead of baking, grilling, frying, barbecuing or roasting.
Their guru is the scientist Roy Walford who wrote “Beyond The 120 Year Diet: How To Double Your Vital Years.”
The adherents of this diet are live off what they can grow. It has emerged that they live off approximately 1,500 calories a day; the recommended daily calorie intake for women is 2,000 and men 2,500.
