Consuming Nuts as Part of Your Diet Can Reduce Cholesterol

Consuming nuts as part of your diet can reduce cholesterol, according to experts.

Experts claim that nuts can block cholesterol absorption.
Following a review of 25 studies, which involved almost 600 people, the researchers deduced that those who incorporated on average of 67g of nuts, a tiny bag, in to their daily diets reduced their cholesterol levels by 7.4%.
The US Loma Linda University team stated that the research highlighted that nuts are an important part of a well balanced, healthy diet . However, it warned against eating nuts which are coated in a sweet substance or covered in salt.
The study was undertaken by independent researchers, even though it was partially funded by the International Tree Nut Council Nutrition Research and Education Foundation.
