Patients who exercise every day and eat a healthy diet while getting treated for breast cancer and prostate cancer can improve their entire health, so says recent research.
50 participants were monitored; 30 female breast cancer patients and 20 male patients with prostate cancer, aged between 35 to 80 years.
They were all in receipt of treatment for cancer .
All patients were given a set diet plan and exercise regime, based on weight, health and the type of cancer treatment they were in receipt of.
The trial results highlighted that patients in receipt of treatment and adhering to apt diet and exercise habits were less tired and did not experience as many side effects due to cancer treatments.
It is now clear that exercise as an approach to cancer care can benefit patients psychologically and physically and mitigate treatment side effects.
