You Can Incorporate Potatoes in Your Diet for Weight Loss

Some people omit potatoes from their diet when they are attempting to lose weight due to their high glycaemic index.
However, American researchers state that you can eat potatoes and incur weight loss .
University of California researchers studied 86 overweight women and men for three months in order to measure the impact of a lower calorie modified glycemic index diet which included potatoes.
The study participants were placed in three groups and each was placed on a diet which included upto seven servings of potatoes on a weekly basis.
Each group lost weight.
The results show what health and nutrition experts have been saying for decades, that it is not advisable to omit certain foods or food groups from diets .
The research highlights the fact, that when potatoes are eaten in a healthy way, they do not contribut to weight gain.
