Three Servings of Fibre Essential for Diet

Carbohydrate-rich foods as part of our daily diets are making a comeback.
Including three servings of whole grains in your daily diet is necessary for ensuring that you are performing well during the working day.
Whole grains provide carbohydrates which fuel our bodies and provide us with energy. Whole grains also provide essential fibre, which enables us to remain full for longer and help regular movement.
They also provide much needed vitamins; antioxidants and phytochemicals which help prevent disease.
Grain seeds also contain bran, endosperm and germ layers. Whole grains consist of all three layers, with their naturally occurring nutrients .
The bran layer is full of fibre, minerals and vitamins.
This layer is removed upon the refinement of grains, when white flour is produced.
The endosperm layer contains digestible carbohydrates and B vitamins. The germ layer contains tiny quantities of unsaturated fats, vitamin E, phytochemicals and antioxidants.
