Gastric Band Operations Instead of Diets is Preferable

The number of gastric band operations increased from 4,200 to 7,214 between 2008/9 and 2009/10.
80 per cent of the patients are women.
Such procedures would appear to be preferable to diets for some people.
The number of individuals admitted to hospital mainly due to obesity also rose by 30 per cent, from 7,988 to 10,571.
In the last decase this number has gone up ten fold, from 979 in 1999/00.
It would not be surprising if this figure multiplied at this rate on a continuous basis.
This situation is of course a cry for the entire nation getting to grips with obesity . The health of a vast majority of Brits has been adversely impacted by obesity.
Standard advice for dealing with obesity is to adhere to a healthy diet, exercise regularly and deal with stress more effectively.
