Women try to lose around half a stone prior to going on holiday .
The survey was undertaken by travel agent Sunshine.co.uk. It discovered that along with exchanging currency, getting travel insurance and sorting out additional travelling necessities, 67% of women went on a diet prior to going away.
Dieters incurred approximately 8 lbs in weight loss, with just 9% of those questioned saying that they did not try to alter or enhance their looks prior to going on holiday.
Nearly half of the 1,614 women surveyed admitted to using fake tan or going on a sun-bed before going away.
Prior to going on holiday, women found that they spent on average of £162 on treatments.
It is very interesting that so many women go on diets before going on holiday. Surely it would make more sense to diet after going on holiday as you normally over indulge while on holiday.
