Diet Obsessed Society Bullies Fat Children

A recent survey highlights that nearly 25 per cent of children under 10 deem themselves to be overweight.
28 per cent of participants had been bullied due to their weight, whilst 26 per cent had skipped meals in the hope of losing weight.
1,500 youngsters aged between seven and 18 were surveyed. More than 40 per cent of under 10 year olds are concerned about their weight and 23 per cent have been on a diet in the last year.
66 per cent of this age group weigh themselves, with 37 per cent doing so regularly.
38 per cent state that they are influenced by a ” diet obsessed society”.
Over a third of 11 to 13 year olds are unhappy with their weight and 61 per cent are worried about it, with 45 per cent having been on a diet.
