Diet is important for good skin health

People looking to benefit from good skin health may want to pay special attention to the foods they consume as part of their diet.
Max Tomlinson, a naturopath, nutritionist, homeopath and medical herbalist, has explained highly coloured fruits such as blueberries and pomegranates can help in this regard.
Mr Tomlinson noted these products are rich in mineral zinc and the vitamins C and E, which are very important with regard to skin health.
Vitamin C is found in oranges and can boost immune function and maintain the integrity of the skin.
The comments come in response to new research carried out by OnePoll for SoBe V Water, which found 61 per cent of people do not eat a healthy balanced diet, with 34 per cent admitting they consume no – or just one serving of – vegetables a day.
Mr Tomlinson said the worst culprit with regard to skin damage and ageing is sugar.
He stated: “I think a way of replacing the lovely treats, getting them out of our diets and maintaining wellbeing long-term is to say ‘I am now going to be responsible for my wellbeing’.”
This could be achieved by replacing sugary products with good-looking fruit and veg.
