An American Pastor, Rick warren, is releasing his very own dieting guide after it came to his attention how overweight a lot of his congregation is.
The Pastor of the Saddleback Church in Southern California lost 65 pound in 2011 using a tailored dieting scheme, and now plans to share that with the community, in his new book The Daniel Plan.
Released on the 3rd December, the book highlights a “powerful connection between faith, food, fitness, focus, and friends.”
Warren told the USA Today that God is not only interested in the soul, “he is interested in your body, mind and soul” so people should look after all three.
The Pastor began losing weight in 2011, but ‘relapsed’ earlier this year when his 27 year old son committed suicide and he turned to comfort eating to cope. Now, however, he is back on track and wants to share his healthy lifestyle with everyone.
Warren teamed up with published doctor/authors Daniel Amen and Mark Hymen to create the diet the book explains.
The title of the book came from the first chapter of Daniel, in which Daniel swaps his rich, kingly diet for healthy eating.
