Phillip Schofield sheds pounds through fasting diet

Phillip Schofield has admitted to taking extreme measures to lose weight.
Speaking to an audience at a recent filming of Mr and Mrs, the TV presenter revealed he has been following the 5:2 diet – otherwise known as The Fast Diet – which involved fasting for two days a week and reducing his calorie intake to 600.
On the remaining five days however, he is able to eat anything he chooses and as much of it as he likes.
During the recording of the ITV show, Schofield was asking members of the audience for snacks and confessed he was on a fasting day.
After just four weeks of the new regime, the This Morning co-host has already lost 9 lbs and he claimed to be “really hungry”.
He is the latest in a long line of celebrities to have tried the strict diet, which was created by medical journalist Dr Michael Mosley and featured in the BBC2 Horizon Eat, Fast and Live Longer documentary last year.
Dr Mosley joined forces with fellow journalist Mimi Spencer to write The Fast Diet book, which has sold more than 340,000 copies.
