Political Power Couple Try a Diet Change

Bill and Hilary Clinton have made headlines in America by switching their vegan diets for pretty much the opposite, under advice from Dr. Mark Hyman, just as she announces that she is “thinking about” running for the presidential spot in the 2016 elections.
Since his triple bypass surgery back in 2004, Bill Clinton has followed a vegan diet that aimed to clean up his body and stop further complications developing, and to improve his overall health.
Now however, as the New York Times reported, he and his wife have re-introduced meat into their diet at the advice of Dr. Hyman, the author of ‘The Blood Sugar Solution 10-Day Detox Diet’.
In Hyman’s opinion, a fully plant based diet will stop people getting all the good quality protein that they need while giving them too much starch.
He apparently also knows a lot of overweight vegans, showing that he does not believe the lifestyle is an effective weight reducer.
In the run up to the 2016 election, which Hilary may or may not be running for, simply stating “I am thinking about it, but I am going to continue to think about it for a while.”
A shake-up in her diet and a cleaner lifestyle may aid her public image somewhat, as well as benefiting her personally, especially in the light of the obesity pandemic in the USA, and across the globe. The current First Lady, Michelle Obama has been using her influence to try and cut down on childhood obesity, and the Clinton’s may well carry on that campaign.
So now it is not just celebrities who hit the headlines with news on their diet and health regime, as politicians seem to be adopting the same kind of lifestyle, although this is not surprising considering what was said about Chris Christie’s weight in the run up to the 2012 elections.
