Kim Kardashian back on Atkins diet

Kim Kardashian has revealed that she is back on the diet that helped her to shed her baby weight.
The reality TV star was doing a question and answer session on Mobio Insider and said to a fan who complimented her post-baby figure: “Thank you! I did the Atkins diet and I really stuck with it. I am starting again this week, since I ate a lot over the holidays.”
Nutritionist and physician Dr Robert Atkins developed the weight loss programme, which involves eating lots of protein, healthy fats, fruit and vegetables, while keeping carbohydrates to a relatively low level. It also encourages those wanting to shed some pounds not to worry about counting calories as they attempt to lose weight.
After the star gave birth to baby North in June last year, she hid away from the paparazzi while she lost over 50lbs. She revealed on Twitter in October – after showing off her new, slimmer figure – that the famous Atkins diet had helped her shed the pounds.
A spokesperson for Atkins explained that, as a new nursing mother, Kardashian needs adequate calories to be healthy for her child and keep up her milk production, which Atkins can help with as “it’s not about counting calories or depriving yourself”.
