Student Seeking Help with Study Into Diet for Children

Dr Derek Peters is seeking a number of local families with children to assist in his research study by the Institute of Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Worcester.
His PhD study investigates the exercise and dietary habits of children aged between 7 and 13 years.
He asserts that regular exercise and the consumption of a balanced diet is key to children’s growth and development.
His study is going to monitor children’s exercise, fitness levels, diet and body composition and self perception over 10 weeks period, with possibe follow-up sessions at 6 and 12 months.
Volunteers will have to undergo a some simple measurements such as height, weight and body composition assessment and complete a food diary. They will also need to wear a pedometer type of activity monitoring watch for a week.
The first part of the study will constitute of two visits to the university in St John’s Worcester, lasting an hour. The second visit is planned to take place 10 weeks after the first.
