According to recent research by Now magazine, the greater proportion of women who diet to shed excess weight pile the pounds back on once they stop dieting . Furthermore, the research revealed how obsessed contemporary women are with their body shape.
The research was conducted amongst women in Wales . Some 91 per cent were found to try to lose weight by dieting, but only 9 per cent managed to lower their dress sizes forever. The research also indicated that women think about their body shape on average once every 30 minutes.
Furthermore, the research showed that women who chose faddish eating plans were likely to try out further fad diets to try and lose weight. Almost all of the 2,000 women surveyed were found to be unhappy about the way they looked. Most were found to be keen on the idea of cosmetic surgery .
Other women were found to resort to slimming pills, laxatives, and even class A drugs to bring down their body weight .
